Puma ST is the sixth Ford Performance model in the European market
504Ford has added a Puma model to the family name - the top is now the new Puma ST, Ford's European B-segment crossover SUV operating volume 1.5 liters.
Along with the Ford Focus ST, Ford Fiesta ST, Mustang, Ford GT and RangerRaptor, the new Puma ST is currently the sixth Ford Performance Vehicle in the European market. The ST version consistently continues the body design of the Ford Puma with its coupe-style sloping roofline and muscular wheel arches.
Even the extreme of modification does not change the form and function of the model, which remain harmonious. The front lip with the Ford Performance logo is integrated into the front bumper. This increases the aerodynamic compression force by almost 80 percent, which contributes to stability while maintaining direction and grip. An enlarged roof spoiler optimizes the vehicle's aerodynamics, as well as a prominent rear bumper diffuser. The different design of the upper and lower grille serves as a stylistic element of the ST model family while optimizing engine cooling.
Ford Performance is working closely with Michelin to develop a type of tire that takes full advantage of the strengths of the specially designed chassis. The Pilot Sport 4S provides extra traction with a mechanical differential lock.
When the car is unlocked, folding outside mirrors illuminate the ST logo on the ground. Heated Recaro sports seats with gray stitching, a leather steering wheel and an ST logo gear selector greet passengers. The Ford SYNC3 connectivity and entertainment system can be controlled with simple voice commands or via the eight-inch touch screen. Sound is provided by a premium B&O audio system with 575 watts of output power.
The volume of the luggage compartment is really large for the crossover segment of the model - 456 liters. There is a so-called "Ford MegaBox". This is an additional storage space under the boot floor with a volume of 81 liters. The car will easily accommodate four people, and two golf bags plus luggage can be taken with you during the trip.

The transmission of the Ford Puma ST is the same as that of the Ford Fiesta ST - mechanical, 6-speed, with smooth gear shifting. Very beautiful and real! Hand brake?! It's no longer standard these days, but it pairs with the sporty look of an SUV crossover. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 6.7 seconds.
The steering of the new Puma ST deserves more attention. It's a spread factor of 11.4:1. This means it executes control commands nearly 25 percent more directly than the control of the base Puma models. To achieve this effect, Ford has provided a mechanism with a shorter steering arm and more direct travel, measures that greatly improve steering response.
While the three-cylinder engine develops a maximum power of 147 kW / 200 hp. at 6000 rpm, the maximum pulling force of 320 Nm remains constant between 2500 and 3500 rpm. The manufacturer sets a top speed of 220 km / h, which we almost managed to achieve on the track. According to Ford, consumption is 6.0 liters per 100 km with CO2 emissions of 134 g/km. The petrol particulate filter reduces soot emissions.
